“To go independent is — like I said in a prior interview — it’s a funny term,” Drake told MTV News on Tuesday, addressing the deal that finds his albums being released on Wayne’s independent Young Money label (which is affiliated with Cash Money Records) and being distributed by the major Universal Republic. “Because it’s almost impossible to go fully independent. This was basically like the closest thing I could get to my own independence, to sort of continuing to be that guy to the fans that, you know, is trying to prove something — trying to prove that it can be done. So with that being said, I signed directly to Cortez Bryant and Gee Roberson, my two managers, and their company Inspire. It’s a joint venture with Young Money, so that’s the deal. I know there’s been a lot of stuff on the Internet about different entities, but that’s the people involved in the main record deal. And then it’s distributed through Universal, so it’s great, man. You know, if we can sell some records I think it could be a pretty legendary situation.”

Although Drake decided to stay with his managers (who also manage Lil Wayne), he said he loved the courting process.

“Well, the whole thing with me was, I met some great people along the way. [Warner Music's] Lyor Cohen is such a special man to me, even though I am signed where I am signed at. You know, [Interscope head] Jimmy Iovine, same thing, a great person that taught me a lot in a very short period of time. But my loyalty lays with Wayne. For him to be able to benefit from the situation and for us to be able to brand Young Money, this is the route that I went."

“I plan to work with Wayne for the rest of my career, so I think it’s a smart career move,” he added. “You know, everybody else [on Young Money] will hopefully work out the situations, get the right people on the album. I think it was important for me to show him that I believed in him as much as he believed in me. Because a lot of months he stuck his neck out there for me, you know with [performing with Drake on the BET Awards Sunday], and then ‘Ransom’ and all the songs that we put out. And the things he would say in interviews, he really put himself out there for me. So I think it was only just and fair to show him that I feel the same way.”

Drake, Wayne, Young Jeezy and Soulja Boy are scheduled to start their America’s Most Wanted Music Festival on July 27. One thing not in Drake’s favor is his health: He tore his ACL playing basketball and is moving around with a cane. During the BET Awards, he had to lean against a stool while performing. He’s hoping to be able to maneuver through his injury enough to not miss any tour dates.

“Well, I got a couple weeks of rehab ahead of me,” he said. “Right now the knee is, it’s slipping, so I would not be able to perform right now. But I’m going to be in the studio and in rehab.”

Ohh snaps! Michigan trying to make a comeback!

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Allen Park and state of Michigan officials have announced a $146 million movie, television and new media production studio that will be built along Southfield road near I-94.




Unity Studios will build a 750,000-square-foot facility on 104 acres. The site is currently home to a former Visteon research and development center and the city's municipal complex.
The studio will will include production, post-production and production support services facilities with eight sound stages.Jimmy Lifton, a Hollywood executive and native Detroiter is behind the big deal.
The studio is expected to employ up to 3,000 skilled workers while at full capacity, with most of them in unionized trades. Residents of Allen Park and laid off union workers will get first shot at the jobs at the facility.Click on the following links for more information:

Kanye and Lady Gaga Tour

Get ready to be amazed! I got news today that Kanye West and Lady Gaga will be going on tour this fall. Kanye announced this news while taping The View earlier in the week. He is still keeping "hush hush" on the details of the concert but we all can expect a ridiculously entertaining show from both artist. Kanye did however say that “She’s talented and so incredible that she’s not an opening act. We’re doing it together, with no opening act.” Wow, that's a huge thing coming from Mr. West. Well stay posted with Yeezy and Lady Gaga for upcoming info like tour dates. I have no doubt that this will be the event of the year...

The Nerd in Me...

I spent about an hour playing on this website called xtranormal.com . this website allows you to make short movies with digital characters. All you have to do is simply type short text to create a script for the characters. You can add expressions, sound, facial reactions and even change the camera view. You then pick out the background/set of the movie, then what your characters look like and a few other things. The site is pretty straight forward, not hard at all to use. I was about two scenes away from finishing my movie when out of no where my laptop turned off... THAT WAS SOOO DISRESPECTFUL!!! But anyway, I never got the chance to see the end results....so check it out and post your video links here if you can! Maybe I'll play around with it later.

Bring That Back... Kid Sister and My Buddy

PLEASE tell me you all remember Kid Sister and My Buddy! Remember they were stuffed with mad cotton and had big heavy rock heads?? I remember I had the black Kid Sister with the long nappy hair...I wanted the white doll because I could actually get a comb thru her hair but my mom refussed to buy it because as she put it "You're a black girl...?" Yeah thanks Mom, I wasn't aware... Anyway, I remember being pissed and thinking that the doll was a waste! All that long hair and I couldn't do a damn thing with it!!! The only enjoyment I got out of this doll was when I gave her new eyebrows and finally cut her hair off. The best thing about these dolls was the commercial that tricked you into buying them in the first place... Ha ha haaa, my Aunt still has my cousins Kid Sister and My Buddy proped up in the corner of her livingroom in perfect condition... her grandkids aren't even allowed to play with them. LOL I don't know if she thinks they are cute or if she thinks they will be worth money someday but either way... I'm bringing my dog over to finsish them off.

If McDonalds wasn't scary enough already...

Yeah... my fear of clowns, spiders, fat girls and dying from eating McDonalds drove me to find this unhappy medium... just enjoy or whatever!
